PREMISED
For who doesn’t know the radio world, and consequently is not radio lover, surely will not be able to give a meaning to the abbreviation IT9NOV and so I have to give you a short explanation in merit. Who dares to adventure himself in the world of amateur radio telecommunications, to operate, has to gain a licence of Radio lover’ station operator, taking an exam by the Ministery of Communications (practical and theorical exam in technical radio subject with telegraphy transmission and reception “cod Morse”); after having passed the exam, you gain a licence with the relative nominative, in my case IT9NOV, to use in radio communications, phonic or digital. The Ministery of Communications, organ that releases the licence, after carefull assurances from the police organs on the person, releases the licence and the nominative is made of the initial letter “I” which means Italia, the letter “T” that means the operator is capable to operate on all the frequencies, from the number “9” which identifies the belongings region (Sicily) and then from the 3 letters (the suffix to complete the course name) that are different for every radio lover. This is how the nominative IT9NOV is obtained. From this moment, the hardest activity begins, which concerns in mounting the radio station and the relative antennas, articles that don't certainly pass unnoticed for the large dimensions but, above all, for the discussions with the neighbours. Succeeding in all the various connections and accords, we start to be transmitted and received with others OM (radio-lovers) of all the world. Generally radio-lovers operate for personal interests, in a non-profit project with the obligation to transmit only technical information.
“a shortest hint to the history”
(Guglielmo Marconi born on 25/04/1874 in Bologna who set-up the first practice system of reception and transmission of the radio waves in 1895, who was able to effect also intercontinental reception in 1901. The first news of radio-lovers’ stations date back to the early years of the 1900's. The first significant development were in the first post-war years when there were already thousands of radio-lovers in all the world).
During the years there have been many developments and there is always a search to apply new technologies in the subject, among these there is the digital communication by radio developed in different kinds of transmissions.

(see the photo). After the military service in the Italian Army and after some attempts in telegraphy I received a normal licence and, consequently, my nominative changed to IT9GQX. During these years I did little radio activity because of my young age but, above all, because my job was outside. In the meantime many laws changed and, in 2006, my nominative changed, again, in IT9NOV, simply because I didn’t remember to renew my licence. I am opernsative in every phone and digital bands. I think radio in itself is a grandiose thing just for the fact that you can communicate in different kinds of emissions and, often, at notable distances; so I find dutiful that all us OM keep alive, vigorous and clean this stupefacient hobby as people did once before us.
